  • Birth Package – before your baby is born, and in the weeks or months before you give birth to your baby, I will support you antenatally in the preparation of your birth, wherever and however you choose to have your baby, whether it’s at home, in a birth centre or in a hospital – with or without medical intervention.

During your birth I will be there to offer help and reassurance in making you feel safe and comfortable e.g. relaxation techniques, positions, movements and breathing, and to encourage your partner to support you with this, too. After the birth of your baby, a doula will offer some postnatal visits to support you (and your partner) settling in with your new baby.
You may wish to have a postnatal doula for a period after your baby is born, to support you as you enter motherhood and family life.

Emotional and practical support is tailored made to suit your needs whether it is helping with feeding your baby, breastfeeding or bottle feeding, help with other siblings, to allow you to rest – or just to take a shower!

You also may need help with a few household duties whilst you’re with your baby.
Practical assistance can include helping around the house – perhaps a hand with the laundry, cooking or generally keeping on top of the tidying up.

    Postnatal support can include:

    – Allowing mother/carer to nap!
    – Providing breast and bottle-feeding support and education.
    – Listening and emotional support.
    – Knowledge-base for everyday care answers.
    – Making tea, coffee and hot drinks to ensure mum stays hydrated and cared for.
    – Making lunch/dinner – it’s so easy to forget to feed yourself at this stage!

  • About Me:

Hello, my name is Estelle and I am a trained Birth and Postnatal Doula.
I am also mother to my beautiful 6-year-old daughter Scarlet, and I live with my loving husband Nick in Wychbold in the West Midlands.

As a mum myself, I draw on my own experience as well as my extensive training to support mothers, mums-to-be and families at what is a wonderful, but very vulnerable and challenging, time in their lives.

  • I have attended and completed the Birth and Postnatal Doula Training with Nurturing Birth.
I am also a registered member of Doula UK, adhering to their philosophy and code of conduct with a commitment to life-long learning and continuing personal/professional development.
Doula UK offers a mentorship process where a doula works with a mentor to gain recognition through reflection and experience.
I feel that a doula never stops learning. To help support my practical experience, I continue to keep myself well informed of any new information/articles and read appropriate books. I also ensure my skills develop through attending training course and workshops, such as:

    - Birth and Postnatal Doula Training (Nurturing Birth), 2013
    - Art of Doula Listening (Doula UK), 2013
    - Paediatric First Aid, 2013
    - Practical Skills to Prevent & Resolve Malposition (Doula UK), 2014
    - Supporting Every Birth (Doula UK), 2014
    - UNICEF Breastfeeding Friendly Initiative, 2014
    I am also DBS-checked
