Hi, I am Charlotte and I am a Post Natal Doula, offering support to families in the Brighton area.
I have worked for around 15 years supporting vulnerable teenagers, many of whom have experienced past trauma that can negatively impact upon them. I continue to be passionate about that work, but since having my own 2 wonderful girls, now aged 4 and 6, I have acquired a passion for supporting new mums. I strongly believe that every woman should have access to a village of support in the 4th trimester.
Due to existing work and childcare commitments, I cannot currently support as a birth doula, but I hope that this will change one day. At present, I can provide support to pregnant mothers, wanting to prepare for motherhood by giving thought to a postnatal plan, so that the early days are more likely to be the blissful period that every family deserves. I can also provide practical and emotional support after baby arrives, whether that might be meal preparation, cleaning, looking after baby so that mum can rest, helping in the care of siblings, assisting with signposting to groups or services and providing a listening ear; as well as any other reasonable requests that make life a little easier and the transition to parenthood smooth and joyful! 😊
I have a calm and positive presence and my support is without judgement for you and your family to feel held and confident in the choices that are right you in your parenting journey.
I would love for doulaing to be accessible to all so please don’t let cost be a barrier. If we find we are the right fit for each other then there may be an option that works 😃
