Liz Clarke

Hi, my name is Liz Clarke and I am based in the South Norwood London area.

I am a new Birthing Doula, I completed my Nurturing Birth Course March 2020. I believe no matter how much knowledge you have there is always room for more and I will always seek out current information to support mothers/families. I have been an Early Years Educator for 15 years and have worked with Children of many ages. I have always been surrounded by families and children from different backgrounds and cultures and I respect all.

I am a mother of two young women now, but my birthing journey many years ago was something so special, but at the same time wasn’t the best experience because I didn’t have the knowledge I do now nor the support to guide me through my birthing experience. I believe this is where my passion for being a support buddy for my friends and family came from. I didn’t want them to experience the same type of emotions I felt. Since then, I have assisted many births and didn’t realise at the time that I was actually being a Doula, I just knew I loved the experience of helping with other births. This is where I feel most comfortable and always eager to support from pregnancy to birth, expecting mothers and their families during their journey of becoming parents. Plus, giving aftercare support is always an added bonus for the families.

I am a great listener which I believe is vital to help, support and encourage to resolve situations. Expecting mothers trust your own mind and body, never be afraid to ask me questions or share how your feeling, you and your choices are important to me and I will help your voice be heard. My aim will be to keep you relaxed and calm but remain excited of course! Also respecting your boundaries and giving support where I can to relieve any stress or anxiety you may feel.

I am an honest easy-going person and I am here for you. It would be my pleasure to be with you on such a personal joyful journey. Each birth to me is unique and is a true blessing.
