My name is Robin Huttunen, I’m a Birth and Postnatal Doula based in Nottingham and have 2 gorgeous children.
My own pregnancy and birth experiences made me passionate about supporting other women. I know first-hand what a difference it makes being surrounded by a support system that is non-judgmental and full of love, respect and encouragement.
I trained with Nurturing Birth as a birth and postnatal doula and went on to learn rebozo techniques from Sophie Messager a doula, healer and body worker.
I am also a qualified massage therapist and herbalist.
Through my own births and work, I know what a difference hypnobirthing can make and have trained with KGHypnobirthing and the mindful breastfeeding school in the hope to provide you with more support as your doula.
It would be an honour to be able to support you as you bring your baby into the world and to help you to be empowered in the process. I believe that when a baby is born, so is a mother and they should be honoured and nurtured too.
Please contact me for a free initial meeting so we can discuss your needs and wishes and you can get an idea if I am the type of doula you are looking for.

"Robin is one of the loveliest people I've ever come across. Just the person you need by your side and she laughs at my jokes which is a massive deal to me because when I'm in pain saying random things you need to laugh to make me happy which in turn releases oxytocin which in turn allows you to give birth easily. GET YOU A ROBIN. I have her forever".

"Beloved Robin,
Thank you, I cannot think back to my time having the twins without feeling deeply moved.
I remember going into the hospital to be induced; we were laughing and joking and having a merry old time. I was being examined at various points throughout the night and the hours sped by with you there.
When finally I went in to labour at 381/2 weeks, the staff told me perhaps for the 8th time that I needed to prepare for a c-section, you politely and firmly reiterated my wish to have a natural delivery with no pain relief. You allowed me to follow my body without any expression of doubt or judgement. You spoke to me when I was free to talk and you were a reliable, caring presence when I needed to stay quiet inside myself through the contractions. Your massaging through the contractions were gentle and responsive, I simply cannot bring myself to imagine you not being present through that! Having had six children, I know my body well. This delivery was unlike any other in intensity. I cannot be certain that I would have made it through the natural delivery without you, or perhaps if I had, I feel that it could only have been with significant emotional trauma.
When we discovered that I had lost control of my body after the delivery, your calm professionalism and care was overwhelming. You didn’t let me feel embarrassed, you made me feel like everything was going to be ok and I could just enjoy being alive for my new babies, even if we couldn’t understand what had gone wrong.
Between you and the midwife on call the next day I was able to fulfill my desire to breastfeed although I was barely able to speak or control my hands for those first five strange days. Until I was finally competent enough to leave the hospital, after eleven days, your advice, help, herbal recommendations, the simple beauty of your presence and even just the sound of your gentle cheerful voice were healing for me.
What I remember just as vividly is how you never expressed once about any difficulty you might have been experiencing, being 5 months pregnant yourself.
You let the entire experience be about me without ever telling me that it was. I can’t explain why that’s particularly precious but it is.
I cannot qualify in words or things the debt I feel I owe you for agreeing to be with me even though you were expecting at that time.
Thank you Robin. You are one of the most genuine, good-natured, gifted, humble, kind and wise people I know and your organisational skills are not to be sniffed at. I am extremely grateful and blessed to know and have you in my life".
