Amelia Sommers

Amelia is Co-Director and Head Doula at Elayos. Elayos is a Birmingham based doula charity providing support for women and birthing people who find themselves facing financial hardship and in need of birth support.

Amelia has three young girls (4,2,0) and worked as a Movement Psychotherapist with a variety of different client groups before training as a Nurturing Birth Doula.

It was after giving birth to her first child that she felt she had a skill set that could used to help support individuals who find themselves in financial hardship and in the position of birthing alone or with little support. Amelia and friend Hope Plumb decided to join forces and Elayos was founded. Since then Elayos has supported hundreds of clients in the Birmingham on their perinatal journey.
