My name is Grace Collins. I am a birth and postnatal doula, and a qualified KG Hypnobirthing instructor. I offer antenatal, birth & postnatal support, and hypobirthing preparation. I have supported mothers and their families in a variety of births including water births, VBACs, multiples (natural births), and caesareans. I am committed to providing parents with the calm support and guidance they seek in order to make your birthing experience as positive as possible.
Antenatally, I can support you to feel better prepared for the birth of your baby by being there to listen to you, discuss with you your choices and help you feel relaxed and more confident in your abilities to birth your baby. Together we can prepare your birth preferences document and I am always happy to sign post you to evidence based information to support your birth choices.
For birth support we may meet two or three times before the birth. Together we will talk through anything that is worrying you regarding birth. We will talk about birth preferences and work on preparing a birth plan. My aim is always be to support you to feel informed, and empowered during your journey to birth. I will be on call from two weeks before the estimated due date until the baby is born. Please get in touch if you would like more details.
Postnatally, I help you transition to motherhood or a bigger family smoothly. I am there to help you with caring for your baby and yourself, and I am always happy to help around the house and do some light cooking if needed. I am also there to listen and support you with infant feeding issues and can help you with baby wearing if you would like to wear your baby in a sling. Do get in touch if you would like more information on any of my services.

Grace was our doula for the birth or our second son. I had had a c-section with my first child after having a relatively straight forward labour. I felt I needed extra support to achieve a VBAC so I looked for a local doula. Having Grace with us made a world of difference to how I laboured. She was someone we could both trust and depend on and I could not have done it without the back message she gave me. She was also great with my first born and after the birth she brought us a home cooked meal and made sure that we were all looked after. Having a doula was the best decision we made.
E & S
As a student, I sought out Grace in early labour as I did not want to give birth on my own. She had to travel out of her area to get to me. When I saw her, I instantly felt I had known her for ages. I was able to feel more relaxed about labour and I felt the I could rely on her to guide me to the natural birth that I needed as I did not have help around. Labour was long and she stayed with me for the two days we spent in hospital. She brought me food and made sure I was well looked after. I am forever grateful for the care and support she gave me. After I gave birth, Grace visited me twice to make sure that I was doing well and she helped me with feeding issues.
