  • Testimonials:

Gill's calm and positive nature was evident from the first moment we met. We were fairly certain that we wanted to hire a doula, both to help me and my husband during our daughter's birth, and in the run up to it. Once we met Gill, we didn't even bother to interview anyone else, as we knew we had found someone special.

Gill was on hand throughout my pregnancy to answer my questions and calm my worries with her down-to-earth, evidence-based advice. When I went into labour, she was in touch with my husband over text, leaving me to focus on being in the bubble of labour, just the two of us, while keeping him calm and informed on exactly what to do. Once things ramped up, Gill was with us, travelling with me to the hospital and quietly but strongly fighting our corner to ensure that our birth preferences were always considered and that I always had a voice.

I think our birth experience would have been much more stressful without Gill's presence, and her support and friendship post-partum have been so helpful to us both.

I couldn't recommend hiring a doula enough, and wouldn't hesitate to work with Gill.

We cannot recommend having a Doula, and that it be Gill Smallcombe, too strongly.

Without Gill, we do not think we would have had the natural birth experience we wanted.

She struck the perfect balance, giving us the space we hoped for while advocating strongly on our behalves with the medical team out of the room.

A difficult task and a great relief, perhaps especially for first time fathers, which she is able to do thanks to her many years of experience.

Gill knew precisely when a little touch on the tiller or, equally, when taking a step back would be best to reassure or remind us as first time parents.

It was the least we could do to ask her to cut our baby's cord.

    We will be forever grateful.

    Thank you, Gill!
