Personal Introduction:

The first few weeks with a newborn are such a special and sacred time. As a Postnatal Doula it’s my job to provide whatever a family needs in order to enjoy these moments to the fullest, and to help ease any extra burdens or worries. I can make some lunch; I’m a good cook and I have spent some time researching the best dishes for new mothers. I can grab some shopping or look after baby so you can have a nap. We can have a chat or I can simply just sit and listen- debriefing the birth can be a very important step for many families, and having someone around to listen is as vital as more practical help. Having had a difficult birth and suffered from PND, I understand many of the challenges that face new mothers that perhaps family and friends do not. I’m also a qualified Yoga teacher and like to incorporate relaxation and breathing techniques into my work. I’m flexible with my working time and we can find an arrangement that works for us both. I feel very passionate about supporting you during these life changing moments.

About me

I live in South East London with my husband and our thriving little boy. Before embarking on the journey of motherhood I worked as an actress, writer and teacher. Originally from Mexico I moved to the UK over 15 years ago and have made London my home. It was during a long theatre tour through India that I became involved with an an NGO that worked with women and their children. This experience sparked the desire to support and empower women, I just didn’t know then, exactly what form this would take . It was only after the birth of my son that I considered becoming a doula. I had a complicated hospital birth and although I felt greatly supported at the maternity ward, I did feel slightly lost once I got home with the little one. Not many people have family close by or perhaps they cannot offer the dedicated care needed during the postnatal period. For me, a Doula would have been a life saver.
