If you have received a ‘new user’ email from us you will be able to log in to the site and create a profile to be listed on the Nurturing Birth Directory.
1) Enter your details
Your name and your birth services category/ies
Add your name and the categories you wish to be listed under. You will be asked to set one service as your main category so pick the one you’d like to be found for most. The categories will appear in alphabetical order regardless of which category is chosen as your main category.
Complete the fields – About Me, Qualifications and Testimonials. You will be asked to add some photos at the end and you should include scans/photos of any certificates that you have gained. Please do make sure that you write your own unique text.
To help your listing to appear high up in Google, we recommend that you write the text in the ‘About Me’ section like this:
“I am a [insert job title here] in [insert location here].”
For example, “I am a birth and postnatal doula in Reading”.
This makes your listing far more likely to appear high up in the Google search results because people will be searching for a specific role (eg doula) in a specific region. If you offer a variety of services, list your main role first.
For example, “I’m a birth and postnatal doula based in Chester. I am also a hypnobirthing teacher.”
Add as much text as you like to describe your services and how they may help your clients. Then add personal information to add colour and personalisation to your doula directory listing.
Enter your contact information
Enter your business phone numbers and your email address. These will be used for potential customers to contact you. Your address will be used for geolocation only and will not appear on the site.
Add your photos
Add a profile picture and any other relevant photos of your work, such as, if you wish, your certification. Photos should ideally be landscape and 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. If you don’t know how to amend your photo to this size, email your photo to us and we will return it in the correct format.
2) Read and click to accept the Nurturing Birth Code of Ethics
