Personal Introduction:

I am a doula in Colchester. I’m an enthusiastic Dutch woman who uses the pronouns she/her and I am certified with Nurturing Birth since May 2021. During my course time I also followed a workshops ‘LGBT+ competency’ (with @thequeerbirthclub) and ‘supporting every birth’ by Michelle Every, which focused on the doula role when there is baby loss.

My goal is to let the birthing person and fresh parent see that they are incredible, that asking for support is a sign of strength, that it is not your environment that gets to decide but you! You decide about your choices in your pregnancy, your birth and your postnatal journey.

Before diving into the birth world I gave birth to two babies, who are almost 3 and 5. They were born in NZ where I lived during most of my twenties. In the end of 2019 we moved to the UK to be closer to family.

Before having babies I was studying and working as a nurse while playing as much capoeira as I could and dance through the nights.

I am a bit of a hippy (as in I like all things nature and the environment around me) who likes to know the evidenced based stuff while trusting the persons intuitions and knowledge about their body and mind.

I do not have a website yet but you can find me on instagram @martineungu you can send me a message there or an email and we can discuss what sort of support you would like.
