Personal Introduction:

Hello, my name is Lorraine and I am a Doula and Birth Photographer. I offer my services across a wide part of West Yorkshire including Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Wakefield and also parts of Greater Manchester.

I provide support to women and birthing people as they embark on the transformative journey of welcoming new life into the world.

My mission is to help people be prepared and to use their empowerment to achieve the birth and parenting experiences that are right for them. My care offers calm reassurance with considerate compassion for a person’s needs.

As a Birth Photographer, my passion is to capture the moments of transformation and all those little moments that quickly become memories. My style is real and unscripted with the aim to not disturb.

Before becoming a mum, I thought I wanted to be a midwife. There has always been something about pregnancy and birth that has resonated with me. As I experienced it for myself, this fascination grew. Then I discovered the role of a doula and I knew this was the work for me.

My own journey has taught me how important it is to be heard, informed, and empowered during this very important time.

By giving support to a diverse number of people I know that every journey is different. I believe your care should be as individual as you are. From virtual support during pregnancy to in-person support at home births and postnatally, my help is tailored to your needs.
No matter what your choices are, I will be there to support you to have the positive experience that you deserve.

"Lorraine gave me so much more than practical support; she helped my anxiety throughout pregnancy and helped me to prepare for my daughter's birth. She shared with me coping techniques and told me about practices I didn’t know existed and I was totally unaware they were available to me. She provided me with information on breast feeding, my birthing options during a caesarean and even practicalities to help with my chronic pain during pregnancy. She was a calm and reassuring presence throughout a time that I felt very vulnerable, frightened and confused. It was so lovely to know I had someone I could turn to."- B

"Even through virtual means, it feels like Lorraine is there to help you with anything at all. I am genuinely so grateful for the time she gave me and the invaluable advice I have taken away from my experiences with her. I felt empowered to be stronger during a very emotional time and Lorraine helped me feel extremely grounded when my emotions of having a new born, and lockdown restrictions, were sky high and could have easily led me into feeling depressed like after my previous birth experience."- H

"Whether in person or via facetime … I always had a better day after speaking to Lorraine. She helped us to put our birth plan together, taught me practical things but I think the most valuable thing for me was that she reminded me that I had a voice and how to use it. So I wasn’t scared to say what I needed and wanted. Lorraine made my feelings and emotions feel valid"- M

"Finding a connection with a doula was crucial to me as a doula to me is more than providing information. I wanted to know I’d be able to talk to her about fears, expectations, setbacks etc. This is why I didn’t hesitate choosing Lorraine as my doula."- E
